About

CIF Australia is a non-profit, voluntary incorporated association formed in 2006. It is one of more than 30 national branches of CIF International that provides social workers and human service professionals an international experience by:

  • Going abroad to participate in a professional development opportunity of a lifetime
  • Becoming involved in hosting international social work and human service professionals
  • Learning about and becoming part of real global change

We cooperate with the alumni organizations of the Council of International Fellowship (CIF) and the Council of International Programs USA (CIPUSA)

The Council of International Fellowship (CIF) is a private, voluntary, non-profit, politically and religiously independent organization founded in 1960 following up the Cleveland International Program in the USA - later on Council of International Programs (CIP) and CIPUSA.

Throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North and South America and Oceania more than 30 countries have established National Branches. Many of them also run CIF Exchange Programs.

The goal of CIF is to promote international understanding and world peace through training and exchange of experience for professionals in human services. CIF provides professional human services development and training through intercultural exchange.

The CIF International Board of Directors is constituted of representatives from each CIF National Branch and CIPUSA.
